Yakushima trekking (2) – Natural World Heritage Island

19 July 2015
We pulled down the tent at early morning as we have to walk more longer than yesterday. and started to walk toword Miyanoura-dake.
1.5hrs walk, arrived at Shin-Takatsukagoya hut. This hut is much bigger than Takatsuka-hut yesterday. If you come to the other side from “Yodogawa-tozanguchi”, this is a good location to stay.
We passed forest limit at around 1700-1800m above sea level, then tall trees disappeared, so shade also disappeared, became very hot. Peak of Miyanoura-dake came into my sight. I thought still a long away to go.
Encoutered big mail Yakushika(deer). Only right side of mountain is foggy .
Large and strangely shaped rocks appeared. I wonder how it was made ?
Miyanoura-dake is just in front.
We reached at the top of Miyanoura-dake. 2hrs behind schedule, so we rushed to go down the mountain.
Kohananoego trail passes through marshland at 1600m above sea level.
